Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the capital of Cambodia. It is also the largest city of the country. It used to be called the Pearl of Asia in 1920s. In Phnom Penh, there are some famous places highly recommended in Cambodia tours. They are Royal Cambodia Palace- Silver Pagoda, Phnom Penh Independence monument, Nagaworld Casino, and markets. Preah Vihear temple is located in the most spectacular terrain among the Khmer temples. The temple was constructed at the beginning of the 9th century, but much of the architecture of the temple was built in 11th and 12th century, under the reign of the Khmer Kings: Suryavarman I and Suryavarman II. Shihanoukville is also known as Kampong Som. It is a port city and beach resort as well. It is located in the Gulf of Thailand. This city has the deep water port in Cambodia. Tonle Sap

Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and has a huge importance to Cambodia. the area of this lake can be expanded and considerably depending on seasons. If coming here from November to May, you will find that it is the dry season in Cambodia; thus, Tonle Sap water will flow to the Mekong River in Phnom Penh. However, from the beginning of June, it will be the time of heavy rains, the lake's flow will change in the opposite direction and form a huge lake. Near Tonle Sap, there are many people of Vietnam and the Cham people live, they live in floating villages around the lake.
